Court Setup

  • Use the existing tennis court markings, including the baseline, sidelines, and service boxes. 
  • Lower the tennis net to 34 inches at the center, or use a portable pickleball net. 
  • Mark the kitchen line 7 feet from the net using tape or chalk. This is where the non-volley zone (NVZ) begins.

Equipments Needed

  • To play pickleball on a tennis court, you will need a pickleball net, pickleball paddles, and pickleballs.
  • The net should be lowered to 34 inches at the center, or you can use a portable pickleball net.
  • Pickleball paddles are smaller than tennis racquets and are specifically designed for pickleball.
  • Pickleballs are plastic balls with holes, similar to a wiffle ball but slightly heavier.
