The PPA Tour Asia officially launched its first major event at the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open from July 3–6, 2025. As the Asian expansion of the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA), the event attracted top athletes from across the region. For Wowlly, it marked a milestone in competitive presence and a strong affirmation of our product design philosophy rooted in health and performance.

Strong Performances Across Categories
Wowlly proudly celebrates the achievements of three athletes who brought home gold medals at this landmark tournament:
- Rachel captured the women’s singles title, standing out with poise and consistency. Her control of pace and placement exemplifies the type of play our equipment supports. She is scheduled to compete next at the Hong Kong Open this August.
- Amy Chan earned gold in the mixed doubles 50+ category—an especially notable result considering she began playing pickleball only two months prior. Her performance is a testament to the sport’s accessibility and Wowlly’s support for athletes at all life stages.
- Cindy also reached the top of her division, reinforcing the depth and readiness of Wowlly’s team across categories.

The Role of Equipment in Competitive Play
Several players, including Gee, competed using the Wowlly DBS Double Backhand Special paddle, a model tailored to advanced performance needs. Its square-shaped face and elongated 5.75" grip are optimized for two-handed backhand stability, powerful drives, and maximum sweet spot coverage. The feedback from athletes at this tournament reaffirmed its strengths—stability, responsiveness, and precision.
For those researching gear upgrades, the DBS remains a top consideration among the best pickleball paddles for advanced players. Designed with feedback from experienced competitors and crafted with T700 raw carbon fiber, it balances explosive power with superior spin control.
Introducing the Next Evolution – A Glimpse Ahead
While the DBS was a focal point at the event, Wowlly also introduced a yet-to-be-released paddle model to select team members. Though not officially launched, its subtle presence during the competition provided early insights into its performance capabilities. Designed with enhanced structure and play feel, this upcoming paddle reflects our continued commitment to refining equipment for high-level play. More information will be shared in the coming months.
Reflections on PPA Tour Asia
The Kuala Lumpur stop is the first of four main events in the 2025 PPA Tour Asia calendar, followed by tournaments in Hong Kong, Japan, and so on. For many athletes and fans, the series represents not only competition, but community growth, cross-border exchange, and the elevation of pickleball within Asia. The PPA’s decision to integrate professional and amateur divisions also aligns with Wowlly’s belief in an inclusive, lifelong approach to sport.
Our Ongoing Commitment
At Wowlly, we remain focused on thoughtful design, performance reliability, and injury-conscious construction. Each paddle is developed with intention—bridging decades of medical knowledge with elite sports design—to empower players of all backgrounds.
As our athletes progress through the PPA Tour, we will continue to support their efforts and share their stories. Their success is not only a reflection of training, but also of tools that respond to real-world demands.
