The Wowlly Azure features state-of-the-art Kevlar® Aramid fiber inter-weaved with industry-leading 12K T700 carbon fiber. This combination significantly improves paddle face durability, reducing the chance of dead spots and "core crushing" often seen in other paddles. Additionally, Kevlar’s high tensile strength increases "dwell time"—the time the ball stays on the paddle—giving you maximum control over spin on both offensive and defensive strikes.
We built the SX9 core by taking our competition-tested SX3 polypropylene core (found in our SURGE line) and increasing the structural thickness. This added thickness provides a softer touch, perfect for precision dinking at the net, while still delivering an explosive response on deep-court drives.
The Azure is designed as a perfectly balanced competition weapon weighing in at 8.1oz. The tightly-woven Carbon x Kevlar face makes it slightly heavier than our standard models, which helps maintain optimal balance and swing weight for stability against hard hitters.
Not at all. We employ a new ultra low-profile edge guard. Even with a 19mm total thickness for durability, this design ensures a maximal contact surface without the clumsiness usually associated with thicker paddle and edge guard combinations.
